Two and one half hours north of the Twin Cities is Little Pine Lake --- a few

miles south of Aitkin, Minnesota. It is just a small lake amongst the

10,000 others in Minnesota. Overlooking the lake is a piece of property

that God allowed us to purchase with Carol’s parents. Our first trip to Little

Pine Lake was when our oldest son – John – was not quite one year old.

We grew up with our children through the years going to “The Lake.”

Over the years we’ve used tents, second had tent trailers, a fish house

and the oldest cabin on the lake to house friends and family. While the

accommodations have not been spectacular I can assure you that the

fellowship has been way beyond what words can express. We’ve had

family birthday parties, graduations and other gatherings throughout summer

after summer as our children grew. We’ve laughed, cried, celebrated and

mourned here over the years --- and spent many hours in prayer here.

Now it is no longer just a piece of property on Little Pine Lake --- it is

Grandma Camp. It’s a special place --- a rustic place set in the

wilds of Northern Minnesota where Carol and I gather our grandchildren

and take the opportunity every summer to teach them the things of God.

Grandma Camp started seven years ago and since then we have set

aside special time each summer to be here with our grandchildren.

This year Grandma Camp is very special --- last October we built our first

cross on our family farm just north of the Twin Cities, then in January built

cross number 2 in Boschwaba, South Africa. In January we are planning 3 more

crosses in South Africa and one cross in Kenya in February. All to Give God Glory!

But for this summer, this Grandma Camp --- right here and right now --- we

are building cross number three to give God glory. It’s Grandma Carol,

our grandchildren and me giving God Glory. Carol and I are “All In” for Christ

and the family farm has been dedicated to the Lord with a cross and now this

special God given piece of property on Little Pine Lake “Grandma camp”

is dedicated to the Lord.

Prayer: Father thank you for a special place for Grandma Camp --- at

Little Pine Lake --- in Aitkin, Minnesota.
