Pastors Bill and Carol in Jerusalem at the Western Wall
praying for requests received --- April 27. 2008 - May 7, 2008
Pastor Carol Welcomes you to Jerusalem and invites you to ---
"Follow me to the Western Wall"
Sign at the entrance to the Western Wall
notifying all that this is where the
"Divine Presence (Of the Lord) always rests."
First look at the "Western Wall" as we enter
Israeli Flag proudly flies over the Western Wall celebrating
the liberation of the Wall in the 1967 war and the re-unification of Jerusalem
Pastor Carol holds a fist full of prayers that were sent for insertion
into the Western Wall. Requests when received were set into #8 type
and set in rows. The paper was printed and each prayer was cut out
in a strip. Pastors Bill and Carol prayed over each prayer by name,
folded it tightly and then inserted it into the Western Wall.
The Western Wall is divided with the men to the left and the women to the right.
Here is the men's side and everyone must wear a hat out of respect for the
presence of the Lord. The hat is called a kippah or yarmulke.
The women must wear a scarf or shawl.
Here wall goers are preparing a written prayer for the wall
Here two young Israeli girls sat and kneeled down on the hard
Jerusalem cobble stone to write their prayer for the wall.
Here an Israeli Army Company of soldiers came to place their prayers in the wall.
We're told that the army units regularly visit the wall for inspiration
so everyone knows without a doubt why they are fighting and how
important God is to them and their nation.
Here a soldier writes his prayer just before visiting the wall.
Here three Israeli Army comrades in arms pray and insert their written prayers in the wall.
Here is a group of Rabbis studying the word and praying.
Here is one artisits rendition of what the Western Wall will
look like when the New Temple is in place.

Prayers inside the cracks of the Western Wall
Young boy stands on chair to reach as high as he can to place a note in the Wall
A view of the Mount of Olives from the Western Wall. The base of the
Mount has been turned into a large cemetary becasue people want to be
buried as close as possible to the place that Jesus is going to return to earth.
Pastor Carol prays at the Wall and then inserts prayers in the cracks
Rabbi prays with his young son at the Western Wall passing on his God
Ultra orthodox Jewish Rabbis praying at the Wall signified by the large fury hat
First day Carol and I split a Schwarma for lunch
A few days later we each had a Falafel for lunch
We returned for the Schwarma and learned our lesson
and had it cut in half so we could share equally
Another type of wall. This new wall separates what may become Palestine with Israel
Western Wall Tunnels
Excavation over the past decade have exposed a network of tunnels
the parallel the Western Wall and expose the bed rock of Mount Zion.
Herod's construction stones and current day walls
This is the largest stone in Jerusalem
44 ft long, 15 feet wide and 12 feet high
placed by Herod when he rebuilt the
Temple Mount at the time of Jesus
Tunnels of the Western Wall are small in places
and without articfical light --- absolute darkness
Today May 6th we place our final prayers at the Western Wall and read the
Jabez Prayer. We return home to Cambridge, Minnesota arriving tomorrow night .
Thank you for sending your prayers, praying for us and sending
support so we could be your Ambassadors to the Western Wall.
In parting we believe King Solomn said it best:
1 Kings 8:41-43b
“In the future, foreigners who do not belong to your people Israel
will hear of you. They will come from distant lands because of
your name, for they will hear of your great name and your strong hand
and your powerful arm. And when they pray toward this Temple,
then hear from heaven where you live,
and grant what they ask of you." NLT
God bless you,
Pastor Bill and Carol
